Highlight Reel

We all have met that person and probably have been that person, where someone asks, “Hey how are you,”….them “I am having a terrible day everything is going wrong, this is going bad, etc.”

We all have problems

Just because someone chooses not to tell every problem and announce every low does not mean they do not have dark moments. Being jealous or envious is a bad trait to have especially if you are looking on the outside of someone else’s life. Yes you see them as successful, they have the car you want, relationship you desire, job you wish you had, house you dreamed of, etc. What you do not see is the work and prayer it took that person to get all of those things. Do not complain and be lazy, there is someone out there who is up late working, busting there butt off to have everything. Choosing to praise and show your blessings is not being a show off, it is to inspire others. Your season is coming, but having a bad attitude about life is not going to bring any change. We have to learn how to change our view/perspective on life in order for outer things to change. Know that you are created and deserve great things, what are you doing now to set your self up for that blessing you prayed for????

Our words have power. Be careful what your thoughts are because you may say them. When you say things you are affirming that you believe it. What is it that you highlight most? Do you highlight your problems, or do you promote the good in your life? By proclaiming good things, you make the issues going on dead.

You have a choice to ignite positiveness around you, or bring power to negativity. If you are like me when people only have bad things to say it makes you not want to be around them. Negativity can rub off on you and the next thing you know you are that very person.

This week, change your thinking, and be mindful of not only the things you tell others, but watch out for what you tell yourself. Do you call yourself smart, or do you put your self down after every decision?

Have confidence and go with good faith forward!

Labor Day

Some people’s mentalities are so self-centered, that if it does not benefit them they will have no part in it. For instance, you have seen those that will only do something for others when they will get recognition and credit for it. If this is you I want to let you know that when you give just to get praise from men, that is your reward, but that of which you do in secret God will reward you. God will bless you for blessing others. People are so worried about driving the best and having the most expensive clothes, which is nothing completely wrong as long as you seek God first, but with so many in poverty in the world, community, and family now is not the time to be stingy. I mean you can’t take any of your talents, gifts, and wealth with you when you die. Sow seeds of good deeds, and reap a harvest of blessings, give more, and no you don’t have to be a giver from a financial stand point, giving time, and showing compassion will be remembered more than dollars given. While today is Labor Day go out and spread the love of Christ, someone out there is in need of it. You can’t sit around waiting for the chance to bless someone, you have to go out your way and find others to help, for thru you they will want to know God and love more.

Take Every Blessing into Consideration

In life we get those (really excited, joyful) moments  when we have been really struggling with something to come out on top with a blessing. The blessing not all the time is something materialistic (money, car, clothes, etc.) Yet a blessing can just be simply learning, growing spiritually, gaining insight, or wisdom, being able to use good judgement, and renewing your faith. Sometimes you get little small blessings. Sometimes you get one big blessing at an unexpected time. No matter how you look at it a blessing is a blessing still and if you can read this post, that is a blessing. Take everything as a blessing, the little things we have that we may let go unnoticed are the big things to someone else. Normally I don’t include hashtags in my blog but however I am tooooo #blessed && #favored!!!

Good Seeds, Good Deeds

People won’t remember every time you do something, but they will remember how you made them feel. I think when we do things for our own good, we don’t get any true happiness because we are focusing on self instead of how we can help others. This week, make up in your mind to do one good deed for someone, see how good it feels to pass along some encouragement. The more you do it the more it becomes a habit of sowing good seeds, soon you will be able to reap a harvest of blessings.

So go out and make somebody’s day, wake up with that mentality to be helpful to someone, remember to be sincere, & smile, it goes a long way. Your words have the power to change a person’s mood, so be careful with the words you speak, if it is not going to build someone up don’t say it at all.

Started from the bottom….

I am greatly appreciative of the opportunity I have had to attend Mississippi State University. I can not express enough how much of a blessing it has been to be here for almost 4 years. I have learned so much, and gained far more than I expected to coming in. It is not enough to forget where you came from, (where you were prior to where you are now), even if you are not at the top of where you hope to head one day, take time to not forget where your roots are. I do not plan if it is in God’s plan to turn my back on Mississippi and leave without coming back to make a change. It is my job to help the next person coming up, just like someone gave me a chance, I have to do the same in return. So you can hog your talents and pack up and never come back to where it started, but what good is that going to do to make it to the top, and your people are still at the bottom. If I make it, you can too!! The best is yet to come! Next goal, destination graduation May 2013!!

Now we are here- It’s the little things, your story, your struggle, hardwork, and determination, can help those who want to one day be like you….an Inspiration

It take endurance, prayers, and encouraging words, but with God all things are possible-I’m a believer

Inspire someone, either old or young, it can really change someone’s outlook on life

Shoutout to my Jacksonians doing great things!!!!

While your making money, don’t forget to make a difference
