Coretta Scott King: “We have done what we can to reveal the truth, and we now urge you as members of the media, and we call upon elected officials, and other persons of influence to do what they can to share the revelation of this case to the widest possible audience.” – King Family Press Conference, Dec. 9, 1999.

Leadership

Most people would rather be slaves then have freedom. Sounds bizarre, but think about it, when you are bond to slavery, you have no responsibility, no need to be held accountable, or make your own decisions. Yet on the flip side with freedom comes hard work, every one of your actions, you are held liable for. It’s hard for a lot of people today to take responsibility and own up to their faults.

How can you grow when you can’t admit when you’ve made a mistake?Right now someone is looking up to you and copying your ways. Do you want to be a leader of integrity, or a person who is afraid to turn from the crowd, spur change and help others create a better life out of oppression.

Follow the Leader

Lately I have caught myself just really getting wrapped up in myself. Yet I know that being cocky is not a good thing and that it is not my own good but God that is allowing all of these opportunities for me. He must increase, I must decrease John 3:30. We have to remember who really is in charge and not lose sight of who really got us where we are. If I really had control over my life I would be lost without a sign of a map (shipwrecked). We have to remember that in life its good to play the background, and not get in the way of what God already has his hand over. If I really dig deep I see that I am really not as impressive as I think I am. Its not bad to think good about yourself but never think too high about yourself that you think you are better than anyone. God has blessed you to get to where you are, and if you take things given to you in your life for granted they can certainly be taken away. It’s not our own abilities to why we have blessed lives, it is all God’s grace. Guess it is safe to say when we get wrapped up in our own life we lose sight of how we are suppose to be living and being able to see how we can honor HIM. What God gave us truly is a gift but those gifts were put in place so that he would receive glory.

I have been taking my finals and I am really going through senoritis. Just last week I thought I had it together boy was I wrong. These tests are not anything that I saw coming, I know a little off topic but similar in ways because it is a way of humbling me. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those graduating college this semester. Do not get to wrapped up in what you have going on to let God take the lead. He really knows what is best though we are sometimes unable to realize it because of the things in the world we let distract us.

I was inspired by the song Background-Lecrae

“If I do this by myself I’m scared that I’ll succeed. And no longer trust in You, cause I only trust in me. And see, that’s how you end up headed to destruction. Paving a road to nowhere. Pour your life out for nothing”

So don’t follow me….Follow the Leader
